A few days ago, I worked as a room attendant at Kandima Resort, a demanding job that starts early. My day begins with breakfast before I start work at 7:30 a.m. I collect the necessary equipment and materials and follow a task sheet, which includes cleaning 15-20 rooms, including vacant ones. I prioritize guest arrival, room-move rooms, and occupied rooms, ensuring thorough cleaning and restocking amenities like the minibar and bath necessities. Additionally, I dive monthly to clean the ladder leading to water villa rooms. I usually finish my tasks by 4:00 p.m., or 6:30 p.m. if there’s a late departure, and then submit my task sheet to the office before heading to my room.
