Jason saw his mom, Rozy, making breakfast in the kitchen. Noticing his fast breathing and fearful expression, she looked at him with concern.”Jason, what’s up?” she asked gently.Taking a deep breath, Jason said, “Mom, there was… blood in the bathroom.”Rozy’s face showed surprise. “I don’t know anything about that. Your dad and I were in bed early last night. But… who could have done that?”Jason hesitated. “Mom, I felt someone in my room last night. I heard a horrible voice. The same sound I heard when I went outside to get Dad’s glasses.”Rozy’s brows furrowed. “What kind of sound?”Jason swallowed, his eyes wide. “It was like someone calling me, saying, ‘Don’t be afraid of me, I’m your friend.’”Before Rozy could respond, Jason’s dad, Mark, appeared behind them. “What nonsense is this?” he asked, frowning.Startled, Jason turned. “Dad? Did I upset you?”Mark shook his head. “No, son. It’s alright. But you really think you heard something?”Jason nodded earnestly. “Yes, Dad. I heard it.”Rozy stepped forward. “Why don’t we go look at the bathroom together?”With a sense of unease, they all headed toward Jason’s room, hoping to solve the mystery.
