The World Bank has said that the 26 poorest countries are in their worst financial situation since 2006. Their debt is rising, and they are more at risk of crises. A new report shows these countries are now poorer than before COVID-19, with their income per person dropping by 14% between 2020 and 2024.Natural disasters affect these countries the most, causing them to lose 2% of their economy every year, which is five times higher than other developing countries. To meet their development goals, these nations need to increase investment to 8% of their economy by 2030. But international aid has dropped to its lowest level in 21 years, showing that these countries need more global support.
