Africa’s native forests cover only 9.1% of the land but hold 80% of its land-based plants and animals. These forests are very important for the environment but are not well studied because they are hard to reach, and there are few resources. Scientists like Rudi Swart and Charles Haddad work hard to explore these forests, finding new species and learning how they all depend on each other. These forests store carbon and rely on insects to survive. Even without modern tools like canopy cranes, researchers are working to study and protect this amazing hidden world.
